My top 3 lipsticks | Beauty's favour

So, spring is on its way and I can't express enough how much I love to wear lipstick! Year in year out I always have an 'everyday' lipstick that I'll use pretty much everyday as my go to! I have a 'night-out-dressy-uppy' lipstick that I like to wear when I am dressing up and maybe wearing a little more
makeup than usual. And a 'I fancy a bit of  a change' lipstick that I'll wear when I'm feeling a bit bored of my everyday go to one. (That I'll always end up going back to) I usually always buy my lipsticks from drugstores as I feel you can get just as good quality and shades than those that cost over twice as much, like why buy one lipstick in one shade when I can buy 3 for the same cost and have 3 different shades?

So. These are my current 3 most used drugstore lipsticks.

On the right - COLLECTION - VINTAGE ROSE
The one at the top. - AVON COLOUR RICH - CHIC
At the bottom - W7 - SCARLET FEVER

Vintage rose is my everyday lipstick, it's very close to my natural lip colour although it does look very nude on the picture it's actually slightly more pink, it's a satin texture and I love that, I actually bought this because I had an avon one in 'Frozen rose' which I loved, and then I lost it! And it wasn't in the avon book for AGESS! I purchased this one and a few weeks later I found my avon one in a bag I had used on a night out, and I didn't much like it anymore as it is a shimmer, I'm not a huge fan of lipsticks with little glitter bits in, however I can and do wear shimmer lipsticks.

Speaking of shimmer, my ' I fancy a change' lipstick is the avon shade in Chic. This is slightly darker and clearly has a shimmer look, its like a pinky-brown with a slight hint of red. it's just one of those things, you can't quite figure out why you like it, it's different but it's the same. No one really notices my change of lipstick but, i do. And that counts... Right?

And finally my night out lipstick, obviously I don't ALWAYS wear this on a night out, but it's my brightest red and I'm telling you now, it smells AMAZING! I don't even know how to describe the smell. It's sweet, but not sickly, it's just yum! It's so smooth, and really Pigmented, and best of all they're so cheap I have this in another shade called toffee which smells just the same.

I couldn't say whether any of these lipsticks are long lasting as I'm one of those people who reapplies anyway, which maybe isn't a good thing, but it's what I do, like a subconscious decision. I have no reason for it, I think I just enjoy to look of freshly applied lipstick.

April favourites!

Hi guys! I know we are now over a week into May but I thought id post my April favourites, I have SOOO many things that I love so I decided I would make myself choose the 5 products I've been using the most in the month of April. So here they are!

I suffer from quite dry skin, and throughout the month of April I was having real trouble with the dryness, usually it manageable and a light moisturiser does a good job, however my skin seemed to be getting really dry and my foundation just wasn't looking good at all! So I decided I would try this! Aqueous cream is safe to use all over the body including the face, you can even use it in the shower as a substitute to soap to cleanse. Well, I have been LOVING this, my skin is so much better than it was eve before my troubles, I don't use as regularly as I was, mostly on a night time and then I'll use my normal moisturiser on a morning as it is quite a thick, heavy moisturiser, but I did the job in about a week and my skin feels so much softer :D

HD brows (Foxy) 4 x 2g - packaging has now changed* and Retails at £25 at HD BROWS (Click here to visit site.) However I got mine in the Latest in Beauty The glamour beauty edit which is now unavailable.

Until about maybe a year ago, I was never much into filling in my eyebrows, but then I got this in my beauty box. And I decided to give it ago as it is seen as a high end product and it was full size so there was no point in wasting! Well I never knew how much difference eyebrows can make, I apply this with the real techniques brow brush and it just looks so natural! I love it.

*The new packaging is now a rectangular shape and also comes with a wax products to seal the powder in place.

When I first bought this foundation I didn't really like it as it dries very quickly, which doesn't give you much time to blend, however since about 6 months ago when I got my RT buffing brush I can really buff it in before it drys and it looks so flawless, it feels so light that I forget I'm wearing it, I would say its a medium-full coverage. This is also available in a oily/combination formula for those with different skin types.

As I said before I had a MAJOR dry skin nightmare and unfortunately my eyelids suffered too, I have quite sensitive eyelids as it is, and one night after I'd been to work, I fell so sleep quite early and hadnt washed my eye makeup off (naughty) and just my luck that I can't get away with this and my eyelids go super dry and flaky, almost like eczema. So I bought this in an emergency as it was sore and unflattering, it took its time to clear it up completely but it is sooo soothing and it took the redness away almost straight after the use so I was quite impressed with the outcome of this and I've used it everyday since I bought it!

After the huge craze about Bioderma, I was a little excited to see this on the shelves, I had been wanting to try Micellar water for a while but bioderma is quite pricey and I wasnt sure I wanted to spend so much on something that might not be so great. This was actually half price when I bought it so it was £2.49! Now that I've tried it I'd happily pay £4.99. It takes my makeup with absolute ease, and it so gentle and soothing it leaves me with a clean, fresh, feeling face, so no complaints over here!!

So, they were my April favourites! Hope you enjoyed reading this! Watch out for my next post!

Concealer palette review!

So, in my previous blog I spoke about a concealer palette I order on ebay! I've had a a couple of weeks now and this is what I think.

Pros
-different shades mean that you can contour and conceal.
-the light creamy texture makes blending easy and doesn't feel cakey on the face.
-good sized individual colours mean that this will last a while.

Cons
-I wouldn't say it worked great on my skin, I have quite dry skin and I felt like this concealer dried it out even more and I was just left with blotchy orange looking dry patches where I had applied the concealer.

Product Review: Coming soon.

Sorry it's delayed I have had some personal health issues which has limited my access to Internet and such, but here I am on the road to recovery in the comfort of my own room, not a big post I'm afraid just a little something to say I'm still here! And this is what's coming..

Through my social medias I've noticed that a lot of other bloggers/beauty gurus) have purchased these Concealer palettes, they seemed to love them and for the average price of them I couldn't resist so I went ahead and bought one today, I'm so excited I'm already writing about it and it's not even here yet, but I wanted it write a new blog so I thought I'd put all the boring back story things in here and then the review itself won't be so long!

So everyone said they got their palettes in ebay for 'a couple of quid', so I search a number of things
Concealer palette
Contour palette
Contour kit

Me being me took a couple of quid as £2.. maybe £3 at the most but when I searched I found they ranged for about £5 onwards, I carried the search until I found the cheapest one possible and I also wanted one that would be delivered from within the uk otherwise it takes weeks to get here, EVENTUALLY! I found one, it was £2.85 and at first I thought if it's this cheap maybe it's not very good, but then I convinced myself, it's worth a try for less than £3 wether it turns out to be great or not. So now I just have to wait for it to come and I'll let you know how it is

DIY: Brush holders/Miscellaneous storage

My finished tins.

In my first blog you might have noticed the holder I had my brushes in, after searching high and low for the perfect brush holders, I figured why not make my own? At least it would be something I like, it would be cost effective (up-cycling and all that!) and it would also be unique! So this is what I did;

We had some empty tin cans that had been washed out and ready to go in the recycling bin, but I saved them! I took the measurements around the tin. (By taking measurements I mean I used a plain piece of paper and created a template).

I went onto Amazon, one of my favourite places ever! And found some gorgeous wallpaper samples from a company called Glorious decoration, they were 49p each but I didn't mine paying seen as I hadn't yet spent any money and was already halfway to having some brush holders. I bought 6 different ones. And then I also bought, double sided sticky tape. You could stop there, but I wanted to go that steel further so I also bough some clear rhinestones, and super glue, and I also bough some ribbon :3 I spent about £10 altogether, with the ribbon being the dearest at about £3.40.

When they all arrived I got to work, cutting out the right sizes from the wallpaper samples, I found the patterns were abit larger than I thought so I had to find a section on the sample where I could cut a nice image out, as if I'd just gone for the corner I missed out the main features of the designs, after I had my wallpaper cut out I out three strips of double sided tape one around the top and one around bottom rim and then the middle, I then slowly stuck the wallpaper round making sure it kept straight and was align properly. I decided to out a strip along the vertical end of the wallpaper before sticking the last bit down just the keep it secure and make sure it stayed in place.

So.. You could stop there and have some lovely brush holders. However I like a little sparkle and a personal touch, so I played around with the rhinestones and stuck them on where I thought they looked good, with the superglue. And I also put ribbon that said 'handmade with love' around the top and bottom rim of one tin.

Makeup brushes.

Ever since I became interested in makeup I have obsessed over brushes, but I never took the risk to buy the expensive branded ones (if it's more than £10 it's expensive to me). But then one day I accidentally came across Real Techniques, now, to me, at the time, those were expensive brushes, taking into consideration I was only about 16 and was just starting to earn my own money, so I didn't want to spend it all on about 9 brushes when I could get 24 for the same price on eBay. My god I did not know what I was missing, eventually I invested in two packs of Real techniques brushes, The starter kit, which is used on the eyes, and the core collection which is used on your face. They are the softest, easiest to use and not forgetting attractive brushes I know of. I have used these brushes since purchasing them, and have never been tempted to change. Although, the brushes have titles written on them as to what they are intended to be used for, I have found some are good for more than just that, for example the 'Deluxe crease brush' I use this on my eyes, and I also use it under my eye with concealer. This is the amazing thing about real techniques.

They're affordable
They're durable
They're versatile

It's true what they say, if you have good enough brushes you don't have to be a makeup artist to create gorgeous and flawless looks.

In the two packs I bought there were 9 brushes in total.

In the starter kit (Purple handles)
-Base shadow brush
-Deluxe crease brush
-Accent brush
-Eyeliner brush
-Brow brush

In the core collection (Gold handles)
-Detailer brush
-Pointed foundation brush
-Buffing brush
-Contour brush

Each set also came with a panoramic case to put the brushes in when travelling, or just as safe storage solution to keep them nice.
